Have a multi-user install of netbeans, used locate to find the global netbeans.conf file. To get it to work I had to append the option to the end of the default command line options line: netbeans_default_options=" ... -J-Dsun.java2d.pmoffscreen=false" Thanks! Worked like a charm.
